| Emotional Amoeba | A/V editing questions
I am copying a bunch of old studio beta tapes over to flash and was wondering if anyone has some tips or names of good programs. We are using one program to rip the audio and video from the rack and that seems to work fairly well. I am having issues combining the two separate files. Right now I am using Sorrenson Squeeze Video Encoding Simple & Easy to Use Encoder | Sorenson Squeeze My goal is to have a final version for Flash. I greatly appreciate any help. Thanks |

Do you have access to an editing application? If so, which one? Are you using a Mac or PC to do this? How is your current workstation set up...ie, do you have a beta deck going through a break out box into a computer?

We have a few different apps. I am using Squeeze because the guy that used to do this used it. I am betting it is some setting somewhere in the software. Step 1 is converting the beta into a .mpg and a .wav. No issues here. Step 2 should be using Squeeze to compile/join the two files to produce a .flv and .swf. My issue is that I am getting the swf and flv but they are not together. The audio and the video are still separate but converted to flash format. If you have any good programs LMK. I can always put in a purchase request. Last edited by Harbinger[TG]; 08-06-2009 at 02:48 PM.

How do I create a muxed MPEG file in Squeeze? By default Squeeze is setup to create separate (elementary) files. To change this and create one (muxed) file simply open the options for the preset and change the Stream Type to Program.

On a side note: I think I made some progress late last night with some settings in Squeeze. Apparently there are other ways to link the audio to the specific video. I have one encoding now, I will post updates in about 40 minutes.

Sounds good. I've only used Sorenson to change video files from one format to another so my knowledge is definitely limited there.
