Very Custom Bright Yellow Sterling

SOLD Please read the whole thread if you see the photos and decide you are interested SOLD

So here is the story. I had a fantastic condition sterling and I thought it was a cool gun and I liked how it worked, so I decided to make it a little bit more my own.

I consulted a decently well known paintball machinist about my needs and decided to let him have a go at it. I had a few things I wanted done and for the most part, he did them. I just got it back in the mail today.

Here is a break down of the work

1: The top tube was rounded and the original male feedneck was removed. In its place is a CCM SS25 / Spyder 2 hole mount centerfeed.

2: The top tube was shortened and a custom bolt was made to fit the tube.

3: The valve body was shortened and tapped on the side.

4: The hole below the valve that was originally sealed with an O ring in the rail is now plugged, but can still be sealed with the O ring if the owner does not want to use the plug.

5: A dual rod pump kit was made. It is very stable and does not like to rotate at all any more, it is very smooth and really feels excellent. The AT dominates sheridan / cocker AT's.

6: The gun was anodized a bright yellow like my favorite cocker was.

So here are the quirks.

The top tube rounding was not done perfectly and as you can see in the photos there is a divot at one point and slight waviness on parts of the top tube. From 3 feet away, you cant see a thing.

The valve hole plug makes it so that the valve body can not be removed until the plug is removed. Before you could use the thumb screw and just slide the valve body out. It adds another step, but removes an annoying O ring that gets lost easily. As i said, you can still use the old sealing method if you so choose.

The anodizing is not good on one point on the inside of the frame rail, other than that it all looked great. It is good anodizing, not low grade stuff that rubs off on your fingers. There are some feather scratches on the passenger side which I tried to capture.

The pump kit is finished and really does feel fantastic, but I would hit it with some scotch bright and smooth the edges a bit.

The plugs on the valve body are also ugly..you need an allen wrench to remove them and replace with shiney ones There is teflon tape frayed in the photos, the valve body is not scratched up.

Basically - This is another gun I planned on making exactly for myself as a keeper. It missed the mark, and I do not want to hang on with it and try to retro fit it to my needs. It chronos hot which means the new owner has the option of using a harder valve spring to increase efficiency and lower velocity, or a lighter main spring to make the pump stroke lighter and lower velocity. Unfortunately I wont do it for you because like I said, I dont want to have any thing to do with it.

I originally planned on using the stock barrel (included) and having PPS do wedgits for like 12 dollars. The stock barrel is good and with wedgits you would never need another. I would suggest that the new owner have wedgits installed, too.

This is a good gun, but as I described it is not perfect. It is for sale for 199 dollars. The super low price reflects the fact that the gun is inperfect but still sweet and probably the only sterling on the planet that looks like this. This gun is guaranteed to get a lot of confused looks.

Sold 199 SOLD dollars shipped, payed via USPS postal money order, and paypal via direct bank transfer or actual paypal funds. sold

I also have a brand new 22ci myth tank with 800 psi spring installed and a mid pressure spring on the side. I need to go look how much I payed for it but I think I can throw it in for 75 bones. I have never used the tank, it was only screwed in to the ASA for this photo shoot.

Does not include on/off and rail or macro fittings with hose (I dont trust them to survive shipping anyways)

Thanks a ton guys.

Sorry about posting a questions in a BST thread, I'll delete if I must.

Do sterlings run on CO2?

Who did the custom work?

Did you buy the sterling new or used?

Thanks,

Arpie

This is setup for 800 psi input regardless of what it is. Co2 is what I wanted to run it on but picked up the 22ci for kicks. It works on either.

Runs great on co2. When I sent the gun away it was in nearly new barely used at all condition.

PM me for more details.

Depends on the phantom.

It is yellow / gold. Green from the grass makes it appear limish in the photos I guess.

The first two pictures are truest color I suppose.

Sweet pump.

Does it take spyder threaded barrels or the older proprietary Sterling barrels?
