I'm getting the shot on the forward stroke, 200 top velocity on Co2 now, and the final 1/4" or so of the stroke it seems to get stuck.

Well I have to say I enjoy playing with this marker now that I have it working.
Just shoots great and is a ton of fun.

I will say that the front cap on the piston needs to be loctited badly. Even with teflon tape I could only get about 100 shots out of the gun before it stopped working. This is not a user friendly gun for servicing either. Basically impossible to field strip due to the number of small screws and various allen keys needed.

So all in all I am pleased to have the gun, and like using it. It is super unique and easy to shoot.
I would never take it to a tournament without a backup, but its great for fooling around with.

Edit: I have also noticed a lot of wear on the hammer. I expect this part will need to be replaced with a steel hammer. The aluminum is wearing very quickly.

What I found to be the most probable cause for the action to get hung on the return is the detente getting in the way.
I rounded off the corners on mine, and it basically eliminated at least 99% of it.
That detente system needs a lot of work IMO. That, and the hammer needs to be made of a harder material rather than aluminum.
The regulator/velocity adjuster is not up to par as well. My 0.02 in short order.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

If I remember right, it's the spring that the backplate uses to return to resting position.

For a basic field strip you only need 2 sizes of allen key, one if you don't use thumb paddles. To take everything apart, you only need 5

Brian also claims to have thousands of rounds through his original hammer without issues, though a steel one wouldn't be a bad idea.

All the way up, all the way down, in the middle, everywhere it seems.

I'll have to take a look at that. Yea the detent system needs some work, balls falling from side to side as well but I don't care about that so much as just having a working Thumper.

I'm curious if its possible to have a hinge trigger put on it and have it work better.

Has anyone had that pin that the Hammer sits on fall out?

Make sure the screw holding the feeder has the washer on it... I dropped mine and as soon as I tighten it and pumped...it stopped a 1/4 way out,

Probably not, because he'd have to go back and redesign the gun around the hinge trigger again.

Alright, I missed a couple weeks due to multiple exams being scheduled one after another.....

What did I miss? Right now my thumper, which was shooting great for about 200 rounds after getting back from a check-up at metadyne, is in pieces because it's refusing to fire. I haven't gotten around to getting any more petroleum jelly, and I left my last tub back at my parent's place.

Any updated parts since the v3 ram? I still feel the detente and hammer needs revisions....my aluminum hammer has a pretty deep groove in the striking face forming already.
