Same here, but I am not overly worried at the moment. Between a new Havoc, the V2 Thumpers, and Thumpers that have come back for refits, I would say that they are quite busy. I guess I would give it a couple more weeks before I start to make any calls or the like.

Just played with mine for the first time and made it thru 5 games before internal reg failure. Gotta say that it was shooting well with crappy v1 paint and a 12" .682 kaner barrel. Gotta get that reg squared away cause i hate taking this thing apart.

If you are having trouble contacting Metadyne, try the brute force method. (Just call, and call, and call, and call.) It is the only thing that has ever worked for me with this company.

That said, from what Brian told me last time I got through to him, none of the V2 Thumpers have actually been sent back in due to failure yet. Which sounds remotely promising.

I do not believe this to be the case, as I noticed no significant velocity difference from V1, to V2, to V3 pistons.

Brian claimed that a new, better sealed breach (adding an o-ring) should increase the velocity, I'll be interested to see if the V2 Thumpers can reach 300 FPS w/ HPA.

The issue was that the steel ones weren't stainless and they would rust in your gun. I just got my gun back from having all of the recent upgrades i'll have to check and see what kind of piston is in it now.

Looks like its about time for me to give Metadyne a call to see about sending in my Thumper, it is still all original, shoot just fine at 220 but starts having problems if you try to go above that. Only other issue is that the pin for the hammer comes loose, kinda nice for disassembly as I can remove the hammer but not so much for playing with it.

I'll check on Friday when I go play again, been trying to play stock class with 12ies only lately

Anyway, sixth day of play with no problems on the V2 thumbper... so since I have nothing to nitpick on the functionality today we're going to look at overall finish of the V2.

Scott told me for the semi gloss finish they used a tumble polishing machine, and while tumblers work well for basic cuts I feel they should probably do some manual polishing in some of the deeper areas that may not be hit by the tumble method.

But since this isn't a production model they may still do that before launching the actual production units.

Other then that the only other thing finish wise that should be looked into is the left to right trigger play. It's funny that for my april fools joke I did last year I mentioned that with the cardboard cutout I did, and now the actual units really have that problem

Is it terrible? No, just something I feel could have been remedied fairly easy while providing a nicer finished unit.

A major improvement I've noticed is the larger breach... tray? where the ball sits inside the breach... Having it much wider on the V2's causes a lot less ball pinch, I notice it only happens maybe once any day I play.

So, then, who here wants to manufacturer some stainless V3 pistons?
