THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

This is saddening news . I was planning to send my marker to get all the updates once the issues where sorted out. I have a version 1 (i think) Thumper which should still work in theory if the dust doesn't affect it. I have been toying with the idea of playing with it again. It is just that i have never played a successful game with it, it always either pinched, didn't cock or just didn't shoot. Was the thumper fix thread wherever it might be updated with all of the newer fixes?

Move away from the Thumper, fine. But don't stop supporting the owners of the marker. I'm also disappointed because there was the promise of FS capability for this

I still really enjoy shooting it, though. I even got rid of my Phantom in favor of it.

Here's hoping that Metadyne customers aren't left in the cold like Air Power customers were.

There has been lots of ups and downs, with the ups rather intense and shortlived and the downs very boring and drawn out. In other words, I wouldn't say we're f'd now. We've been f'd for quite some time, in all frankness. But there is still hope. From my communication with Brian I refuse to believe, at least without further evidence, that he'd just drop the ball with thumpers completely now, forgetting about everyone who sent one in or whatever, without even one word to his customer, no matter how much of a pita dealing with metadyne has been and would seem to continue to be.

Alas, I can hope...

Anyways, that all said, I do talk to people once in a while who have had good results dealing with Brian. It's taken a while, but they always get what they pay for and seem, at the end of the day, happy. So, yea, without more conclusive evidence of use being terminally f'd with metadyne, as opposed to just play-f'd around with, I don't think there is much use or need or reason for panic... just mah .02

I agree... I would not say we are F'ed yet, when Brian closes the doors to the entire company then I would say we are screwed. I emailed Brian for some parts it took him a few days to get back to me but he did and he sent me the parts the next day. Sure I had to pay for the "warranty Parts" per say but I got the parts and now have 4 thumpers working and ready to go. I also know there are some people that love the thumper and are in the middle of working on different areas of it. I am always playing around with mine to see what I can improve on. I value every ones opinion in this thread and encourage them to keep up the positive posts. If it looks like they are going to stop making them then we need to rely on the Thumper community as a whole to help sort out the problems. I am quite sure Brian will send back every thumper he has in for repair, just give him time. As for sending yours in to have the upgrades done. If it were me I would not, but then again I have the means and the know how to install the new parts my self.

Thats my 2 cents worth as well.

If i get some hope of him actually continuing support for the Thumpers then i'm happy. I am still not going to send it anytime soon but I just need to know that if something happens i would get support. South Africa isn't exactly around the corner if you get my drift.

Yea, the situation for international customers seems like it's pretty intense. That said I know of a couple guys in France and the Netherlands who have had good luck dealing with Brian in the last couple years, but still, so much uncertainty! This is the worst aspect, I think, for all of us, but of course more so folks across the seas.

I agree with Rage's sentiment completely. Like he says, given the risks involved, not to mention the success I've had running my stock Thumpers off external/inline regs, I just don't think it's worth it sending any of my Thumpers off to Metadyne. And this is what I say over and over again, in a couple different ways, in my self-help kinda thumper recovery post (as linked to in my sig).

It's a **** show, but there's no sense in getting overly pessimistic. I mean, not until we have confirmation, as Rage said, of Metadyne's shutting down and Brian totally closing the doors... As they say, patience truly is a virtue, an especially necessary one when dealing with this ****
