35 @ 280fps

Intro

My (only) 2010 marker project is finally done. After finding some specific parts with the help of a few people here on MCB, a trip to KPCS for the body milling, and Pif saving my *** over the summer (thanks for the valve!), my SC Sniper is ready to hit the field.

History

I bought the base marker in Dec 2009 off 240SX and used it for the winter season as a pretty much stock 2K2 Autococker with pump kit. I decided to attempt an SC conversion after reading russc's Snipers on 12 grams / on CO2 Discussion thread. However, I have never been satisfied with the common "pull off feedneck and drill/tap for feed block screw" procedure, so I went to the master.

Custom Work

I contacted KPCS in May and had him mill the top of the body and drill/tap the screw hole, and mill the top off the body and back block (I forgot to tell him about the back block, I am thankful that he milled it too). The top of the body matches the specs of a Phantom, so I can use pretty much any Phantom feed option. I am thinking of having a second hole drilled/tapped, perhaps for a T2 feed collar, if/when I want to use a hopper.

Performance

After sweetspotting the Messiah regulator, I am getting around 35 shots above 280 fps (usually 285, give or take a few fps) on a 12 gram. The next 2 or 3 bring the gun down to 250, 200, then barely making it out of the barrel. It shoots just as well as any Sniper I have used before, albeit with a bit of hammer bounce/farting. I am planning on tuning it some more to get rid of this and to try to reach the 45 shots russc had in his test.

Specs/Parts

- stock valve
- CCM IVG
- drg's tungsten hammer slug on cocking rod
- CCM Deluxe pump kit
- AA Messiah regulator
- stock bolt
- first run 0.678 Lurker Eigenbarrel

And yes, there is just enough clearance below the stock to use a 3.5 or 9 oz tank. I can also flip the ASA and run the bucket changer forward under the regulator. I am thinking of eventually running a forward facing lever dropout for some quick changes. The hose will be replaced with a cleaner looking 4" piece when I can find one.

Pictures

I apologize for the pictures, I tried my best with the fog and rain outside and the poor lighting inside.

Thanks for reading.

Very nice!

Id make ur braided hose connection as short as possible, like that the co2 doesnt expand as much.

Have you tried using a lower pressure valve than the stock wgp one?

perhaps you could get deeper into the 12g with a lower operating valve. Myabe a tornado or something like that would work....not sure what pps cocker valves run at...

Great looking gun, nice job! If the gun is farting, you should play around with the springs for sure.

Nice! Do you think you are losing any shots in the hose line? Just wondering if running a 12gram changer sidesaddle to the reg would help at all.
