Grey Ghost rehab

I just bought a Grey Ghost and I found out the feed tube holes were stripped out. Instead of getting the aluminium retapped and get stripped out in 6 months I want to put stainless steel inserts in like on the phantom. I have Ryan at SSC lined up to install them.

Has anyone tried something like this with the grey ghost? Any pitfalls I am not seeing?

Lapco can put in steel inserts for you as well. They did for my buddy Casper. He ran by a bunker and smashed the feed tube into it and it ripped the threads out.
