Well, it depends what you want to do to it.

Just about anything's possible, just differences in how you do it between cartridge and soldered-in valves.

There is only one pro shop to send the guns to by the way, its PPS.

One of the main things you need to do to make a sheridan shoot well is to enlarge the air passageway from the lower tube to the bolt, that is why PPS modified guns come with a welded shut hole on the bottom - they had to drill to get to the air passageway.

Other stuff to do is a better valve pin that tapers down so air flow is better, and figure what you can do to the hammer to make it lock up without such clicky clicks.

Basically the best way to tune one is to reverse engineer a PPS modified one.

Just FYI .... stopped by PPS and talked PGP tech with them.
Very forthcoming with How too info when asked

#3 drill in venting hole and valve body, Sold me one of there DYNA valves for the cartridge. Then I did a bit of dremel work blending in the #3 hole into the passage way behind valve seat. Told to keep the stock springs and polish the striker & bore of lower tube .... That will do wonders.

So ... Guess I got what I wanted and more

Thanks Palmers !!

one thing to watch out for when drilling the passage between the tubes is, busting through the solder joint on the outside. a #3 bit may break through unless you add some solder on the outside of the body.

What's a good way to seal that hole once it's made in the lower half of the tube?

I used a little piece of THIN brass shim stock, soldered it over the hole and made sure grip frame had clearance

Sorry to bring back old thread.

Stupid question, but what is the size of a #3 drill bit?
