| Pump Gun Dealer | Whether it cocks or not just has to do with the balance between the main spring and the valve spring or the length of the pump rod. Most of them don't cock when they're not gassed up. If the pump rod is too long (screwed too far out of the pump handle) you'll be able to cock it without gas, and when it does have gas you'll probably get a little burp when you pump it. That hurts your efficiency, so you probably want to turn the pump rod in a few turns. |

| You need to set the pump rod so that the bolt only goes just a little behind the rear of the feedneck opening. When it's set to do that it likely won't cock unless it's aired up.
