OKAY... I may be on to something. The valve-retainer and power tube in the gun are both out of a Phantom, meaning the actual diameter of the sealing surface is different from the intended diameter. I'm thinking that the delrin sealing surface on the cup seal is not properly contacting the larger OD of the valve retainer.
