SC sniper build

Hello,

Thinking of building a SC sniper and would like some help to select a body.

I was offered the following body but I want to confirm there is enough meat by the feedneck to attached a phantom style tube?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Yes, absolutely. Are your going to use a helicoil to attach the feed block thingy or just tap the body direct? If you're doing the former, I think Have Blue sells them on airsoldier.com. Let us know how the build goes! Good luck compenaro!!! :D

Was thinking of tapping it!

as you can see I still have a lot of finishing up to do, but yes will update the thread with progress.

cheers

From experience...helicoil or inserts will be better in the long run.

My thoughts precisely, but it also looks like there might be so much meat on the body that they're not necessary in the same sense as they are with a phantom/cci body. That said, you're still right - they will do you better in the long run than just tapping the body direct. But again like I said they're not necessary in the same way that they are when it comes to phantom/cci bodies where you really have the bare minimum in terms of aluminum body to work with.

I'll wait for the body but might as well get it helicoil now than possibly ruin the anno later.
Hope to make it out for the Spring Pump event in Illinois with this..

So upon receiving further pics, I think the convertible was done a bit too tight for my liking.

What do you guys think? I still have to polish and get it anno'd so I'm afraid the backblock will crack the top tube.
