The answer is why not? The new one that I saw at NPPL boston was AMAZING. All billet machined aluminum, a trigger as nice as a vintage carter trigger, almost as light as my Phantom, pump stroke as smooth as you can get. It'll be worth it.

does anyone know anything about the barrel threading on the new or old? i have heard that some sterlings were spyder threaded?

They're spyder threaded as all the new ones and the ones in europe.

The last of the "old" ones had Spyder threads as will the new ones. The older ones had proprietary barrel threads and Raptor barrels can be made to fit easily.

hmmm poses a new problem. get hammer or sterling to get maximum use out of my sm-3 kit. they better come out real soon or else i might just have to take the hammer.

There is no comparison... the Sterling is light years ahead of the Hammer. I say wait.
