alot of factors to consider. paint to barrel match, cheap paint vs. quality paint, holding the pump handle forward while shooting, reg may be dirty and needs to be relubed, lower internals dirty and need to be cleaned and run without lube. give us a few more details and we can be more helpful.

Paint I'm using Valken Redemption Paintballs, Sly barrel .683, pump handle forward. I'm going to replace the Cp inline rig first.

with halfblocks you run into more problems with the hammer getting dirty and causing velocity issues. i give mine a healthy polishing and run them dry so the dirt doesn't stick to them. the reg looks new and may need some break in before it settles down.

I have a SM-1 and really like it a lot. Shortly after I received it my maker did the same thing. I took it apart and found the o ring was damaged and the internals were nearly dry and filthy with black stuff and a sticky film. I cleaned it well with carburetor cleaner, replaced the o ring and lubed it with some Dow 33, now it shoots like a champ.

Mine is the opposite. If I hold the pump handle forward, I get a clean thwat sound and high velocity. If I let go of the pump handle, I get a dull shot sound and lower velocity.
