Update, after about 3 play days, the UTB continues to work fine without the cap, aside from the increase in dwell, there were no other effects. Consistency is at least as good as it was with the Eblade.

I'm not sure I ever will get around to putting the cap in, especially if i go to a tighter frame.

but you said its not as smooth and louder with the higher dwell........YOU MUST PUT A CAP!!!! MUST!

hey could the dwell time also be due to the Pulse Dwell the UTB board has? would a cap help in lowering it then?

i would suggest a cap. you might be able to go with a lower capacitance and have a dwell closer to 4 ms if size matters. i have some 2200 uF (16V) caps that are not from radioshack cause those a huge (35V rating). the caps i got are the size of the one in an e blade. if you cant fit one large cap you can put two smaller caps in parallel and squeeze them into the frame.

Or I could just put no cap and leave the frame running. If you catch my drift

Nah, I really should test it at some point. I don't expect 4ms regardless however, it didn't even have that with the eBlade. But then again I set my mQs a little on the generous side as far as dwell, and use the pressure to adjust.

Now a caveat -- I am using rechargeable batteries, so that could possibly be helping me.

Could be a false memory, or have to do with the feel of the frame itself. The Angel frame tolerances are a good deal looser than the eBlade, not to mention there is an extra point of contact between the trigger and the frame (trigger switch). I do miss the feel of the eBlade a bit.
