I am surprised no one mentioned this but with the current upsurge in "milsim" markers, how about a mock shotgun type pump. I can see this coming from Tippmann (the SL68 can be a good base), BT, RAP4 (they need to improve the version of their RAP68 Tactical Paintball Shotgun for it to sell well), Tiberius Arms, PCS, Ariakon or some other company currently producing milsim markers.

What I would be intrigued to see would be a off the shelf PA pump, but I doubt that any company would do this.

I dont really see a market for PA guns or lever guns. Sure a lot of people say "drool drool, I want one," but I would say its a very niche market.

Seriously we have plenty of guys who can make SHO style guns now but it's not exactly a hot selling item.

CCM and CCI have basically cornered the majority of the pump market. You want open class you get a CCM, you want stock class you get a CCI. If you want to be a little different or have a deep wallet you get a Carter or a Palmers.

I'd love to see new additions to the market but only if they are new designs, why would I buy a rehashed sniper from a company when I know CCM does it best already? Plus with the extreme cheapness of cockers and parts I can build my own for less. Heck, I'm building a completely custom MQ2 pump for less than a used S6.

someone will hit the younger crowd with a cheaper pump like sp did the electro market with the Ion. They will see that there is money to be made and try and talk all the newbs into getting this agg looking gun that will compete but is disposable. I have a few Ion based markers, but they stay in the bag most of the time, I would rather use my ccm or sniper, depends on the crowd I am playing with.
I agree that the lever style would not do well on the open market, too different, only certain people would like them, mostly us old Rifle Man watchers from back in the day. Old school or old fool? Sometimes I feel like the later.

The biggest problem with PA/SHO is it isn't considered a pump most of the time, just a semi with the trigger mounted to a pump handle. This might not hold true everywhere but it seriously limits sales in some places especially since you can buy allot of other guns (semis) that get the same r.o.f for the same price or less to use in open games.
As stated above new pump with a price below 100.00 that was a quality gun might find a market with new pump players and might encourage some fields to start having pump rentals again. I had my local field interested in getting a small number of pumps to rent but once he started checking on prices he changed his mind as his semi rentals were less than the pumps he checked into.

I'd like to see a nelson based pump, with DETENTS. (One O-ring and one cup seal. Does it get any simpler?)
Well, any pump really. I know some pumps have detents, but that's for stopping double feeding, not rollouts.
And honestly, why can't pumps be under $100.

I love the look and feel of the CCMs but I really don't want to spend $500 for a pump.

There are lots of pumps under $100, they're just no where near CCM quality.

You can't have it both ways...

yes there is room for another pump on the market, only if they come out with something that is around the $100-150 range.

$100.-150? These days? That's three tanks of petrol. Everyting is costing way too much, let's not paintball/pump guns factor into this.
I don't like to spend my money for **** that I feel is common every day stuff like toilet paper, but I'll spend for something closer to my heart.
My ***?
I'll use my fingers if I have to.
