You might have seen my WTB thread about buying some cocker bodies for a pump project of mine. Well I have crunched the numbers after being alerted to the fact that I cannot import N2 tanks. A decent tank (CP 48/4500 + maybe a myth reg) would cost around RM1500 (a very tasty $500). I have also been alerted to the fact that I cannot buy 13ci or 22ci for some reason that is beyond me here (malaysia). So I'm looking to buy myself a phantom. Since I save the small fortune of buying a CF tank I can afford to spend more (in reason) on extras.

So down to my questions:

Will a CCM pump kit work with a phantom? Will it be a smoother pump stroke over the stock?

Will a CCM 86 grip work on a phantom?

Is there a noticeable benefit from having a stab (palmers) on a phantom (with CO2)?

Will Mike (form CCI) or anybody else sell me a phantom without the grips/pump kit/ASA/steel braided line/feedtube?

Are there any feednecks for OC? Or should I buy a VF breech?

Which CF barrels do you guys use? I head DW were doing a run for phantoms?

My (hopeful) setup:

Dust black Phantom (just the internals/breech if all goes well)
CCM 86 frame (if it can be done within a reasonable amount of cash)
CCM pump kit (maybe a CF one to match the barrel)
CF feedneck (O dells has some)
CF Ghost Ring ( O dells has some)
Some sort of barrel either freak back with inserts and muzzle break or a CF barrel.
Dust black FRAPS ASA (think compulsive stocks these if not I'll have to search)
Dust black CP micro rail
Black macro fittings
Black Macro line
Palmers Stab (if they are worth it on a phantom)
Detents
3.5oz tank

I'm sure I have forgot something tell me if I have...

- Not without modification, i.e. they are not a standard item. I believe Rainman is doing a batch of them.

Will a CCM 86 grip work on a phantom?

- As long as you get the one for the Lonestar mount, it will.

Is there a noticeable benefit from having a stab (palmers) on a phantom (with CO2)?

- Apparently not, it just makes adjusting velocity and dealing with temperature fluctuations easier.

- He probably will. He sells guns without anno. Just call/email and ask him. Worst case scenario you buy the parts (spend a little more) or buy the entire gun and sell the parts you don't need (make some money back).

- PMP makes one, not sure how good it is, but generally they are custom pieces. Punisher used to make them, and hopefully will in the future. I am sure a custom shop here on MCB could do it for you. The VF breech is a good bet.

Which CF barrels do you guys use? I head DW were doing a run for phantoms?

- I personally use a stock barrel bored for Freak inserts. I believe the DW barrels also accept the inserts. As long as you are getting good paint to barrel match (inserts or rings or a kit), most anything is fine. I know CCI (stock) and Lapco make amazing barrels.

The ONLY CF barrels I know of on the Phantom are the extremely rare and limited:
- DW CF barrel (3 I think)
- CCI CF barrel
- Punisher's CF barrel
- CCM CF barrel (not so rare, but I think they stopped making it)

I can tell you that the CCI/Punishers CF barrel is better than the CCM CF barrel. I owned a 'Cocker and a Phantom threaded CCM CF barrel and had a couple CCI/Punisher's CF barrels.
