Will stock nelson tubes work? I know there are some lapco tubes that work, but I cannot remember if a stock tube is the same. I want to pick up some spares.

I actually just bought some from ASP for my Bushmaster. If I remember correctly, the ones without the 'P' designation will work. I hope they do, if not, I will be using them on my Phantom and Nelspot.

I should have them next week if you can wait that long for confirmation, but I am sure someone else will have answered by then.

Yeah I'm in no real hurry. AmericanPaintball has some and neither of us can remember. I am trying to save him the headache of digging his bushmaster out and comparing them.

Sorta food for thought..............
Back in the day, I had an argument with Henry Gilbert and Ross Alexander of Line SI regarding their powertubes. Sort of a "friendly discussion" type. Line SI tubes were "2 holers", meaning they were just copies of a stock Nelson tube. No taper, and holes bored perpendicular to the tube.
Carter, LAPCO and CCI, as well as a couple of "weird" manufacturers (MARS) used the tapered base, and three (or more in the MARS case) angled holes in the tube. I felt that the 3 hole and angled netted more shots per 12 gram. Bone stock Carters, Phantoms and Ghosts were getting 30 without tweaking, and my Bushmasters were doing just 20-25 at best.
Henry and Ross, seemed to not have much interest in this effect, them both being constant air shooters for the most part, while almost all of us New Englanders were restricted to using 12 grams. Nearly all the N.E. fields were "NO C/A".
I ran all my Bushmasters with Phantom tubes, and enjoyed the benefits of more shots per 12 gram, reduced report when firing.
When I played against Ross and Henry, they both were wearing my paint, and asked why my Bushmaster shot so well against theirs.
I showed them my secret. Phantom tubes. We spent a couple hours at the target range and they agreed, the Phantom tube was superior.
Next season both Henry and Ross were using Phantom tubes in their Bushmasters.
I like LAPCO's also, quite similar in design to CCI and Carter, but with 8-23 threads on the cupseal. The 8-32's held up better when running liquid was all the rage.

Hah, that's a great story. I agree about the 3 hole design - I have a LAPCO tube in my Nelly and combined with a medium weight hammer, I've shot over 50 shots chronographed over 260 fps.

I have the same tube and a light weight hammer coming from ASP... this is going to be interesting!

I'm pretty sure a big contributing factor is also the barrel extension:



You can get a bit more expansion from each shot with the extension. I should test with it on and off and see what happens.
