Looks like an original conversion to me. Original barrel kits were made to go on a 007 frame and may not have included a BBA ASA as the stock 007 ASA could be used.

with some turning down yep..

I was going to put one on a stubby barrel I have but I didnt like the idea of running an apex, 12 grams and a stick feed all on the same gun to much to fiddle with mid-field

Might try finding a J and J brass and attaching a palmers apex tip. Although I am not 100 percent sure whether the J and J brass is the same exact od as palmers brass.
