Does replacing the Big Shot with a Palmer's void the use of the return spring?

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

It shouldn't. I (just for the heck of it) replaced mine with a J&J Ceramic and the return spring still functioned. It doesn't really push on the barrel, just inside the pump handle and against the front of the body.

Return spring works fine, but because of a ridge at the bottom of the barrel, you need to remove the pump arm before the barrel (so just the opposite order of the Big Shot). Once again, 11" double vented would be the magic size. 10" is a tiny bit too short.

J&J barrels work? Interesting... I've been looking for a barrel to put on mine with hopefully a smaller bore for better efficiency, but mainly something with actual functioning porting . I thought I might be stuck with getting a CP one piece and possibly having to take it to a lathe, but if the J&J Ceramics work then I'll probably get one of those instead, just to quiet it down a bit haha.

Although if CP does make these .679 one-piece barrels, and they come in Spyder threads, I'll definitely take one of those...

EDIT: On a side note, does anyone know how to take the Ghost's safety out of the frame? I feel like buying some Brasso and polishing up the thumbscrews because they're starting to look a little weathered and I don't think that the patina is really developing nicely on them, so I'd rather bring them back to a polished look, but I don't want the safety lightly tarnished with the rest of the brass being shiny...

Anyone have any insight to marker #99? I am thinking about buying it sight unseen, with no pictures. I assume it's a 2006?
