holding the pump handle

What do you guys think. I played today and when I cock my autococker and hold the handle forward it sounds kinda like a "ding". but when i pump and hold the reg and sounds better. I'm not sure which way is more accurate. I know with my phantom I hold the pump handle forward.

well, here's the deal - when you let the pump handle drop back you're prob shooting slower (lower velocity).

I normally shoot w my hand on the reg - and let the pump handle ride back a bit - however, I chrono holding the pump arm forward. I get about 15-20 fps more holding forward - and don't want to shoot hot in play.

ok cool. ya its weird i was playing better today when i took my hand off the handle. I was having tuff time getting my shots on target. I would get some good elemanations. But then one game i had 5 bounces on one guy and i ran out of paint blaaaaaaaaaa. it may have been the cold weather

usually the only time I take my hand off the handle is when Im running or switching hands. thats more so Im ready to shoot again, and I think its more comfortable though.

Probably a paint to barrel mis-match. Getting partial rollouts will cause extreme fluctuations in your velocity like that.

Get a return spring. It will keep the pump forward, and still let you shoot with your hand on the reg.
