| Look what followed me home today... I've never much been a follower of Boxing Day sales since the crowds are often worse then the pre Christmas bedlam. However when the local PBS decides to hold one I figure "just how bad can it be?" Well.... it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the local malls I'm sure but it was still pretty crazy. I cruised around listening in to the sales pitches and chatted with a few of the sales staff and some customers for a short while and found that the riff-raff has all but left. So I started asking to see this marker and that. Drooling over the heft, or lack of, and size of the new Proto Rail and the latest PMI Piranha GTI. I pointed out the lack of a sales price on the WGP Sniper II that was "hiding" up in the very top corner of the display board to the fellow there who's big on pumps but has yet to get one or play in a full pump game. I joked that he hadn't posted it because he was saving it for himself. We talked back and forth for a moment and I asked "How much was that one again?". He looked it up and I saw his jaw drop "It's down to only $150!" he gasped. And this is Canadian prices where we're used to be pretty much raped by the northern distributors and shops. I know he had been lusting for it for quite a while even at the old $280 so I said "Great! So you can finally buy it!". He shrugged and said not for now cause he needed the money for "real" things and checked inventory, there was two so he brightened up again. Anyhow, seeing as I wouldn't be ripping this sweet looking marker out of the shaking arms of a potential new pump player I plopped down the ol' plastic and brought home a NIB but very dusty (the boxed one had apparently spent some time on display too) Sniper II as per below. Thoughts as of now are to set it up with a 3.5 oz vertical bottle and a T shoulder stock. The stock to either be custom made by me or just get a CCM one through our local Phantom Pusher If anyone has other thoughts or suggestions for a nice setup to try to keep it light and compact I'm all ears.

I saw it sitting up their in the corner but last time i was their he told me it was 300, if i had known it was half price i would have picked it up myself. but you say they have 2 in stock eh? Cause they do have the same sale going on through tommarow, i might just have to steal someones dreams |

The guy has more than had his chance so if you score the other one then it's all fair. I've already offered to sell him one of my other Nelsons if and when he decides he wants to get into it. I've also invited him out to the TNT pump day on the Island next Feb and told him he could borrow any of my collection of pumps. Geez, we'll look like twins out there with these...

| A guy like you would probably steal candy from a baby... So how are you planning on setting yours up? And now that the local pump community is on the growth hormones let's go bug the local fields to hold some pump only days!

| Well i got a new reg and on off for my semi auto cocker so im gonna take the stock reg and asa off that and stick it right onto the pump. Other than that i probibly wont be doing to much to it, i dont see a point even if i slapped some new ccm internals in it i dont think its gonna make that much of a diffrence know what i mean? And i already have a freak kit so im set in that area. I also planned to sent out a sort of e-mail for people to respond to around our area, right after new years to see how many people we accualy got playing pump here so then i can take it to a feild to show them we have enough people and to presuade them to hold a all pump day. Problem is im almost the only pump player i know, were do all you guys play? I'm usually playing out in mapleridge and theirs only 2 other pump players i know over their, and even then i only see them out their maybe once every couple a months. I know Russc plays at north shore but for one reason or another i never get out their, usually cause im afraid my car is gonna blow up if I try driving that far in it lol (ive lost 2 cars that way). |
