Sniper problem.

Hi guys,

I recently tried setting up my ccm s5,(again) but well she's not acting right. Basically when I shoot it she has a low "pop" sound, or barely any sound at all. The hammer also seems to be "caught" on something. It acts like something is inside the body, as the hammer does not feel like it's "free-floating." It acts like it's catching on something. However the hammer looks great...

Couple things to note:

Reg is set at around 300 psi. It has CCm internals and it operated fine at that pressure with the fatty it used to have on it.

Bolt is NOT upside down.

I have had this happen when the hammer lug was just low enough and was dragging along the sear after it was released. Other than that I have now clue other than possible machining defects or the possibility that air is somehow getting in front of the hammer.

Try adjusting the lug or moving the hammer around inside the body without the frame.

I tried moving it around with the frame, and it was still stubborn, and not "smooth" at all.

I was going to say the lug also, but it sounds like there's maybe some kind of obstruction i.e. dirt, metal shavings, etc. causing the the hammer not to glide smoothly in the tube.

Maybe there's a defect with the hammer like the one that was mentioned in the CCM section. the lug hole was milled off center and it caused the hammer to rub the lug slot.

I tried cleaning the lug slot, and the hammer as best I could.

I talked to rod a couple minutes ago.

My s5 is coming up on 9 years old. I'm going to send her back home for a bit and make sure the lower tube hasn't mushroomed, and possibly get a new hammer.
