| Pump Rainmaker Consistency = Balls So what would make a pump Rainmaker so inconsistent? The last game I played I had a real hard time getting it to stay in the +/- 15 or so FPS, and the refs don't really like that... My question is would the regulator need to be swapped (though I did use my Black Magic reg and an AIM reg, both with similar results), or is the design finicky by default? Thanks for any help. |

| Endearingly quirky | Make sure the guts are clean. If the hammer is gunked up, it won't slide as smoothly. If balls break in the breech, the goo will drip down into the lower tube via the bolt link slot. Also are you getting rollouts? If the ball's rolling down into the barrel before firing, of course that'll be a factor too. RM's aren't inherantly inconsistant.

| Walking_Target: Yeah, that's why I love them! Well, I may have to completely disassemble it at the field on Saturday before the scenario I'm going to. There was a period where I never used it, and the brass collar that spaces the pump arm and the pump arm itself seized up. I had to use a bunch of white lithium grease to get it to slide around smoothly again, and that may have glooped it up. I did tear it apart to look at it, and it did see kinda gummy... And I am having a roll-out issue. I don't know if that would contribute to the amounts of inconsistency though. Especially over the chrono, where the marker isn't getting jiggled around. |

| oh god... please tell me you were not running CO2 on that! White Lithium Grease + CO2 = Goop the consistancy of Bubblegum!

| Hah. I've got a little more common sense then that! I ran HPA. But still, while it did free it up, I think it got a little gummier than I expected. I'll probably clean the internals and re-lube it with proper paintball marker lubricant. |

| use some Dow 55 or Slick Honey in there. i know that it's 'speedball grease' but unless you're getting dust in there, it coats better than 3-1 or most paintball oils.

| A god in my own mind | Clean it up and i would also replace your springs. The hammer spring especially. They tend to give weired readings when there going.
