Well well i did it again

Well before i left for castle i started a project that was long over due. It was
a steel die holder for the lathe for threading large objects. As we all know i
hate manual threading. Well anyways i Had it all setup before i left and
started boring it out. When i got home i took a shower and relaxed on
Sunday. Monday morning comes put away the gear and start on this again.
Throwing some serous chips with the power feed running and the wife walks in
and distracts me. The lathe locks up. (thank god it's a belt drive. so the belt
starts to slip) quickly turn it it off. And thank the wife. Now i get oh you
would of blamed me if i wasn't here. Of course we all know if she wasn't trying
to talk to me while i was doing it. It would of never happened. So she finally
leaves. I back out the tool. hand turn the chuck. And wow it's still centered.
cool. Not like this needs to be 100% accurate for how i use it. So i start at it
again. And who comes back to talk to me. You guessed it. The wife. So you
all know what happened again. Bam lock up. Now I'm a little peeved at her
and my self for not turning it off when she came in the second time. So I look
at her cross eyed and she left mumbling something about me being an
asshole. Oh well.

So i get it going again. no damage to the part or machine. So i thought. Get half
way done with everything And the power feed stops working. Turns out i stripped
the brass gear the second time around. Just my luck.

Actually finished the piece i was working on. It didn't truly crap out till i was on the last pass. But thanks for the offer. But maybe sunday i will try to get up by you to see your toys.

Replacement parts are easy to get. I was looking threw the cost of other parts for giggles. Man some of the really stupid parts are way over priced lol.

Now this is scary. I just got the replacement part in. And it's made of steel rather then brass. I see a disaster in the making.
