Pump Rainmaker: Smoother Stroke?

So, here's my latest setup:

It looks kinda goofy with that Sportshot on there, but the balance is absolutely PERFECT. Seriously, the center of gravity is in the middle of the frame, right between where my thumb and shooting finger would grip it. It weighs a ton, but I could one hand it without problem (if it weren't pump).

Anyway, it would be a beatuiful shooter if I could just smoothen the pump stroke. It feels like the aluminum pump arm is seizing against the brass guide collar. I keep the pump arm, the carrier and the hammer oiled. I was wondering if there was a better way to improve pump stroke.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Not yet. I'll probably do that. And thanks.

The dern thing has every Marty Mod that is feasible on this, from internals, to fitted bolt to stainless screws. Heck, the entire back block is a Mad Marty custom assembly. Well, at least the rear cap and bottom half of the block are. I replaced the gutted LPR block with a not gutted one to decrease volume. Seems to have really helped with my previous velocity troubles.

I was pondering that. A pump guide rod could be fitted to the front frame adaptor. It would require a new pump handle though. Want me to draw up a sketch? It would probably help quite a bit. I'll draw it up. See if I can talk you into it.

Both of mine have that bindy feeling on the pump stroke. I just make sure not to side-load the pump, I pull it straight back.

Both mine also have the PPS Sideline Stab. Makes it very compact.

It pumps fine (not buttery, but fine) when I put a little upward pressure on it. If I can figure out a good way to mount a guide rod, I think that will help it a lot.

Try making a guide collar that is smaller (tighter tolerance) maybe if the shaft is .500 make the guide collar ID .499 +0-1 even 1 though can sometimes catch, though, your best bet is .0005 if you have a boring bar (and hopefully you know someone with a shop, or have one and then polish the shaft, will be smooth as butter then. (or it should be, anyway
