I'm looking forward to seeing what becomes of this.

On another note, I took your advice and passed on the Shoptask. I went with a Super X3 also, and a bench lathe. Now if I could just get our damn procurement department to remove their heads from their asses and pay for the stupid things...

Super X3 is a nice start even as a manual setup. I decided to go another route in fixing my shoptask rather then chopping up this new S X3 sitting in the middle of my shop.

I'll keep this manual till i can afford to convert it to cnc. But i would like to keep 80% of the manual features when it do. So I'll be making my own kit for that.

Back to the shoptask freaking project. I'm chopping this puppy up and adapting a new z axis setup to it. Should get interesting once the parts i order get here. It's going to cost less then the original plan which involved the sx3's head and z column

I've got the shoptasks 4 column head setup removed and the head is resting on the vise and base. Found what all my racket is when it's running. The pulley on the head has more play in it then a Las Vages hooker.. The setup sucks. To much un balanced weight on a poor bearing. This is were they should of spent a little more time on this. The should of went with billet alum Pulley over heavy cast ones. Little details that would of made more people happy.
