that's a safety that the VM's used. When the hammer rod is twisted up in that position the bolt and hammer cannot move forward, opening the valve and firing the marker.

The VMX is the only aftermarket body ever made for the VM-68.It was made by Pro Team Products (Was also sold as a complete gun)...VM's have the same slot on them and as Murph said it's the saftey for the gun

The VMX has an armson rifled barrel. The bore is actually perfect.
