Wasn't Luke from AO just doing stock class feed mods on classic bodies that look almost exactly like that?

I was incorrect about the history of this gun, I had the Micromag and this one mixed up. He is the orginal owner of the Micro mag and the second owner of this marker.

This is the info the current owner has about the sydarm:

The original owner was police officer, and this was a training tool. They were a special order from AGD, there were ten of them. He brought it into the shop for a mag tune up,before picking it up he went to Iraq during Gulf War I, was K.I.A. and the marker sold to the shop after his passing by his wife.

What level bolt does it have? it is a standard bolt, to the best of his recollection, He does not believe that it is a level 6 or 7. I have the gun now at my house, yet I couldn't tell you the difference between the two, as I know very little of mags. I am hoping he will be able to stop by today to tear it down so we can get internal pics

Does it have a C-clip holding in the power tube? no, again to the best of his recollection, the power tube is screwed in.
What serial # is the Valve? CF00970 marked on valve right side, left side you can faintly make out 68 Automag A.I.R Valve

Is the body and rail drilled for a pump? no
Is the body painted or just bead blasted? orignally it was bead blasted it currently powder coated agd gray

Is the feed tube held on with silver solder? no, the tube is mounted with set screws and has the spring load system featured in the pictures, this is the original mounting and feed system.

Is the feed tube SS? yes

Is there anything about the valve that would cause you to believe it is an experimental sydarm valve? no, to the best of his knowledge, it is a regular co2 valve,
Did it come with a WGP style grip frame? the frame is a standard nylon agd frame, single grip screw
Heck, does the barrel have left and right hand guides for the feed port? yes, but it does not have the scallops milled into it that you see on later sydarms

The changer is in the original mounting position. It was always there, according to the current owner.

It is so old, that most people have either not seen one like this before and therefore make the conclusion that it is homebrew. He assures me this came direct from AGD.

I am reluctant to tear into this gun and disassemble without him here, as I know very little about them, so for the moment all I can do is take external shots. If there is something specific that you would like a picture of, please let me know. I have crossposted pics on AO in the tech forum, I am hoping that maybe Tom can shed some light on this marker. I also put a call into AGD but they are out of office until next week.

Hmm...

Interesting story, and even deeper mystery...

So, my thought processes this far (in terms of an arbitrary point system):

1) If i see the bolt I will offer more feedback (+0 points of provenance)

2) No C-Clip... (-1/2 points of provenance). I can imagine someone upgrading this valve along the way... but i would expect to see one.

3) Low Valve #. (+1 points of provenance)

4) Not Drilled for pump (+2 points of provenance). Pump mod was circa '94. Anyone want to back me up on this one?

5) Powdercoat... (-1 points of provenance). Most AGD guns were not until later on

6) Set screws. (-2 points of provenance). 'No sir, i don't like it' Does not seem like an AGD solution...

7) SS feed tube (+1 points of provenance) Stainless can sometimes be a whore to work with. That fly's with AGD's push for quality.

8) Stock valve (+0 points of provenance). If this had some resemblance to a sydarm valve or had modification to the dump chamber, i would have have been sending $400 cash money. But the lack of modification does not strike me as odd either way.

9) Carbon Fiber grip frame (-1 points of provenance) Seems like the carbon fiber grip was a late '93 innovation to me.

10)Barrel (+1/2 points of provenance). Odd size + odd style. Unless it is just a minimag barrel and I am loosing my mind.

11)Changer Location (-1 points of provenance). I do not like this either. Seems braided steel cable would have a problem there...

By my calculations... that is only -1 points of provenance. That is not even close to the number I was expecting. I am still 50/50 on this marker...

If you pull it apart and find a lvl 5 in there that could be enough to push it over the edge.

Ok, odd question... Are the feed plugs perfectly tapered or are they slightly more concave to one side? I know this seems like a dumb question, but it might help.

Man, I am sorry I am grilling you so hard on this marker. I am just at a loss to figure out what the heck it is in my own mind.

the back plug is as pictured. it tapers to one side, sort of like a quarter pipe down to nothing.
the powder coating was done by the current owner. It was originally bead blasted to the best of his recollection.
the front plug is is more like a straight line, but at the very bottom therie is a tiny little lip up wards.
I am getting ready to leave for work.
Wish i could do more now, trying to get the owner over to my house to dissasemble.

now to add to the confusion.........

I have pics, but photobucket is down for maintenace.
I went to the owners house at midnight, put the gun in his hand and started reading him your questions while I had his undivided attention( i was talking to him about the gun while he was landscaping over the last two days)

He further filled me in on the guns story as we disassembled the gun.

yes it had a metal WGP style frame when he first got it. He reached into one of his parts bins and pulled it out. I have a pic of it. The trigger guard had been removed and the local field he went to with back in the day would not let him play without one and so he switched to the composite frame that is now on the gun.
Originaly it had a another bolt, he said it was not a level 6 or 7,the original bolt just broke paint constantly. He was unsure what bolt he had put in the gun to fix the problem. We took it apart, inside is a level 10, he also gave me a level 7 to go with it. The man has bags, bins, and boxes of mag stuff. It also originaly had the power tube that was held with the c-clip. Both were replaced when the new bolt was put in. The original tube and bolt were sold at his shops booth at d-day 2004, bought by a mag head who knew what it was.
I have pics of the rail, and underside of the body. The body from the looks of the inside appears to be made of stainless steel as well.

He further recounts that he took this gun to the grand opening of an indoor field in the Toms River area, and that an AGD employee was there for the grand opening. He was an Asian fellow, he does not recall the mans name. The man asked to see the gun, and recounted to my friend that he hadn't seen one of these in years. There use to bo one like it at AGD. That was the only reason he held onto it all these years.
I will try to get up all the pics as soon as photobucket allows.
