| Active Member Join Date: Sep 2008 | SMG 68 w/extras F/S/T I've got an SMG-68 package for sale. SMG-68 serial number 0501, with 37 clips, and a 14" brass barrel that I had J&J make for me (internal raised rifling, ported muzzle brake) years and years ago. Also includes a 7 oz aluminum siphon and a 9 oz Tippmann steel siphon. Clip catcher and a spare parts kit (spares for an SMG-60, but most of them are the same). Here's the whole package: ![]() Here it is assembled with the stock barrel, the clip catcher, and a clip halfway out of the magazine: ![]() Same thing, with the J&J barrel: ![]() There's a small chip on the front sight, and the front sling swivel on the front of the forearm broke out a chip from the forearm. I have the front sling swivel, and probably with some work the forearm could be repaired. ![]() ![]() The J&J shoots pretty well in semi-auto, but it breaks paint in full-auto. The stock barrels are tapered, larger at the breech. Probably the J&J needs to be honed out at the breech. The magazine, since it's aluminum and gets pounded by the valve, gradually gets compressed at the point of impact, which affects how well the clips feed. It can be stretched back out. There's a sort of wedge-shaped piece in the first picture above, on the left, which can be driven through from the outer end of the magazine and will stretch it back out somewhat. That wedge should be just a bit larger, to really get it back to normal. There are paint chips and marks, I played with this gun at a couple of Tippmann VS. The World big games at Hell Survivors. Some of the clips have my initials (SW4) on them in sharpie. It'll probably clean off with a little alcohol. The magazine cap is taped on at the moment. I've had it for 15 years or so, and now it's time for it to move on to someone else. The parts kit includes an air line, several main springs, some o-rings, a magazine spring, a magazine cap for an SMG-60, another clip retainer lever (part of the magazine), several pieces of the piano wire that I use for the axle that the clip retainer lever rides on, and the semi-auto trigger (Tippmann replaced it with a full-auto trigger for me.) There are some other assorted internal valve parts and such, as well. I'm asking $750 shipped for the whole package. I'm not interested in parting it right now. I am interested in sharp-looking stock class pumps, along the lines of a phantom. If you think I've priced it too high, feel free to make an offer. Thanks. |
