i think it was foolish to end it but i also don't know what kind of offer was made either so who knows.

i'm still pissed it ended though. i was ready to throw down.

That's one thing I don't like about eBay. When a seller lists an item for auction they are asking bidders to enter into a contract to buy. We all see this each time we bid. Conversely, the seller is entering into a legal contract to sell. I don't mind sellers taking a backdoor offer if there are no bids, but pulling during the auction is shady and displays a lack of manners.

Someday I'll be able to try a bolt-action.

This one doesn't bother me....he ended early and sold to the highest. If it was an "ended auction" and sold outside of eBay, that would be an issue.

If more of this happened, auctions would be a better experience, as people would bid their "real offer" the first time, instead of the last 30 seconds with a software program.

it bothers me... and how do you know he sold it to the highest bidder? and per ebay rules, it was sold outside of ebay.

and i can't understand why you would think that if this happened more often it would be a better experience. i'm sorry but that is complete BS.
