I played against a guy with 2 of those in, let me see, 1988. They shoot at 400 fps but because the ball is so light and small they wouldn't usually break.

Also the barrel is so short that the trajectory is around 50 hits from 50 shots on a 30 foot pie plate LOL

It was mostly an intimidating marker, nothing my long barreled nelly couldn't handle.

You couldn't use a Mod85 on a normal field, they wouldn't allow it- only usuable at a private/pirate field if you were going to play with it. More of a Novelty/collectors item these days.

Here's of a few Mod85's with clips and Ammo:



Notice the Ammo is a Plastic Shell/bullet casing. Looks like the casing is hollow and the pin from the Mod 85 hits the aluminum looking piece which is a little differant from a traditional bullet. I'm thinking like a snap Cap (if you know what that is) Just to give you a better Idea of what the ammo is like and why it's hard to aquire.
