It looks dark, but the seriel is #504, and the barrel is ported. I've only seen those factory ported barrels on the Sub-500 greys? Nick |

Technically, they go through the same anno process, but the greys had an extra step and were all bead-blasted by hand. I was told it they believed it reduced glare. They were all made "in house" as well. After #500, most parts were contracted out. Earlier greys had more differences, with the trigger, detents, valves, and other parts. But most of the bugs were worked out by #500. Nick |

| MCB Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Southern Maine | I did notice the feed is 1" instead of 7/8", and has huge porting holes. I don't have any elbows to fit it...... Also noticed the sear is non-removable. I remember those old sears were soft, but once I find the right elbow, I should be able to test it out. Nick |

| All Hail King Skippy!! Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Phillipsburg, NJ | My "dark" Z1(#1799) has the same 1" feedneck with the porting holes. Also had the non-removable sear, and while I can't say definitively whether its hardened or not, it has lasted 13&1/2 years so I'm guessing it is.
