Example: Spare hammer with sear and sear spring attached, NOT a separate sear which would require a hammer and punch to remove the roll pin and is NOT a "field" operation. ![]() With legend: Last edited by CJOttawa; 10-25-2011 at 11:35 AM. O.k. so are the hammer and sear the same as a phantom hammer /sear? I need the parts breakdown CJ so I can acquire them. Same thing with the powertube. Pretend I am from another planet and have never seen any of this stuff before. Be specific. There are a very limited number of places near me where i can source this stuff from, so If i have to order it I want to get it right the first time. Part numbers are helpful if you have them, as well as who's part numbers they are. Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge.

Ah wow, your hammer has rust where the nickel plating was removed for the lightening operation. Nice kit btw!

Yes, I had my redux out for the first time today, and it broke in the first game! But it was just that the screw that holds the plate above the trigger frame to the SS snub came loose and fell out. Just got through buying and cutting 4 more just in case. Other that that little bit of unfortunate business it was a great day. CJ that kit is the balls.

Buy a spare CCI Phantom hammer and it'll have the sear already attached. You don't need spare sears. Keep a spare powertube. You could try a CCI Phantom powertube but I don't know if they're high-flowing enough. Ideally you want a Lapco #6 but they're only available used. Try PBN and M.Carter Brown's BST sections and post a WTB thread for a Lapco #6. Quote:

Per the Wikipedia page, the rail has a 10-32 x 3/8 and 10-32 x 5/16 flat head screw visible. Both should be off the shelf parts. The longer, 3/8 screw attaches the grip frame to the rail. NEVER unscrew the valve bolt (10-32 x 1 1/4 socket cap bolt) or the 10-32 x 3/8 grip frame/rail screw when the gun is gassed up! Both of those hold the grip frame to the rail and, since the gun has gas in grip, it will attempt to explode itself if you take off any of these screws. The ONLY screw you can safely remove with the gun gassed up is the front-most 10-32 x 5/16 which ONLY holds the snub to the rail. This is very useful for field work on the bolt or hammer which slide out easily with the snub off. What you aren't seeing are the packets I actually keep all those little bits in. I've dumped them into the lid for the photo. ![]() BTW: the Otter Box 100 is about the size of a pack of cigarettes. I'll edit this post shortly... I have a few more notes to jot in response to all these replies. Last edited by CJOttawa; 08-22-2010 at 09:53 PM. | ||||

Seems pretty airtight as far as a field repair kit can go.
