| Newbie Join Date: Aug 2010 | changing from pistol play to stock class redux
Hey, I'm currently playing with primarily tiberius pistol. I'm planning on buying a redux and playing stock class. I like a challenge. Just wondering what guns you guys played with before and was it a easy transition? Thanks |

Your not from Colorado are you? Great question, I was a Semi Auto guy 68 Spc. to a Line SI to a Z1 to a Cocker to an RT to an Angel , several BT's then I went old school back to pumps. Im better at pumps I think much better and dont get stupid. I recommend you try a nelly or other single action pump before you go for a Redux. SC is a hard game to master but once its in your blood its like nothing else. Welcome to Club Redux! |

Using a Tiberius is actually fairly equivalent as far as the challenge goes. If you've been able to stay competitive with 8 shots and 12 grams, I think you'll be fine with a Stock Class pistol. You'll just have to be more careful since you don't have a fast follow-up shot.

the way the balls sit in the redux, you can achieve a fast follow-up shot if your technique is good. Let's assume you have a ball in the pipe already and one resting above the bolt and the gun is cocked. You can pull the trigger, and quickly pump the slide back and pull it forward, while holding the trigger down the entire time. Doing this you get a follow-up shot, assuming you don't pinch.

Nope not colorado, I'm from Canada. I've contacted Mongo and reserved one from the next batch. Hopefully, they will be ready soon. I do pretty well with a pistol. I used to use a T9 with hopper then to mag fed now with pistol only. Although, with a pistol, I often pop more than 1 shot, double or triple tap. I think I might need to get used to the rock and cock of stock class, but I'm excited to try. Another thing is I am worried about is fixing the redux if it breaks. I'm pretty proficient in assembly/dissembly, fixing, tiberius markers but whats the learning curve for the redux. Is it hard to troubleshoot, find parts, etc? I've read pretty much everything in the knowledge base. It doesnt look like a hugely complicated marker. Btw, for anyone from Canada, is there any issue with passing through customs for the redux? Thanks! Hoping to join the club soon! |

I used play tornaments like nppl, psp, etc... I've own like 10 electro marker. But one day I happen to see the duckslide on facefull . Got the contact, end up buying both duckslide and redux. Dude it completely change my style of play ,also fell in love with pump . Sold all my electro ,kept boths of my duck and pick up a carter boxgun .

I brought one through in person without any issues. The CBSA is staffed by people who don't necessarily know the laws pertaining to paintguns, so once in a while you can run into problems. Things like them asking you whether your gun shoots over 500psi. They mean FPS, but you're in for a world of hurt if you answer yes to that one. They also held my KP2 "until I could provide proof of registration for my shotgun." When I called the CFC to complain about the CBSA boneheads, they didn't want anything to do with my case since upon describing a KP-2 to them, they told me it wasn't a gun and thus wasn't thier responsibility. Anyways, the only reasons they can deny your gun entry is if it fires over 500fps, or is a scale replica of a real firearm. A redux is neither, but don't underestimate the stupidity of CBSA goons.

I went from a milsim electro (SP-8) with a large electronic loader, to the same gun with a 50-round hopper. I ditched the SP-8 for a series of mechanical semi-autos, a Blazerand an Automag both with 50-round hoppers. By that point, I was getting very good at snap shooting and conserving paint; 100-rounds a day wasn't uncommon for me. If you're at that point already, the Redux just adds one step: manually recocking between shots. It will launch a .68 caliber gelatin sphere as well as any high end electro, mil-sim marker, pump or pistol. Last edited by CJOttawa; 08-23-2010 at 10:08 PM. | |
