| One in the Pipe! | Semi Auto Redux Theory
Being and old schooler I have played with just about every blow back semi ever invented.... ! No really thinking back on my old school play book what better way to create a Semi-Auto Redux thank to go blow back. Sure you could go with the Auto Cocker method but that would be messy. An Auto Mag would also be a viable option but the slide wouldn't move and besides thats been done before. That leaves one option the original Icon Z1 as a base. One could build the snub to utilize authentic proven Montneel internals. Then simply modify the outter upper Redux slide to fit over the snub attached by a modified cocking knob which would also act as the link for the cocking action for the upper slide. Thus causing the slide to re-cock like a real 1911 with every trigger pull. ![]() Gif Courtesy of our own HP LoveCraft One could also modify the existing trigger frame to utilize the original seal however the entire marker would have to go back bottle. The length of the Z is similar to the Redux. With this as a base for a new thread I would be glad to hear your thoughts on the subject. Ok Go! Last edited by DSA; 08-30-2010 at 09:25 PM. |

I'd just like to see a redux Z-1 reissue with large enough internal passages to accomodate high pressure air use. If they have the care and attention paid to tolerances that the old montneels did, it doesn't need the moving slide, the performance would speak for itself.

I was thinking about it the other day and I'm convinced the easiest way to do it is to replace the internals with an Automag valve or something resembling one that fit inside the inner diameter of the slide. The snub would come out, replaced with a bore-drop receiver. I think it could be done with the gas-in-grip so it looked, externally, EXACTLY like a Redux. After all, with an Automag, the only moving part is the bolt. Externally, it's completely movement free, much like a spool-valve electro. I've gotta go with Automag with no moving parts externally. There's too much to go wrong with the whole slide moving. | |

Just another thought howz about a phoon platform that would make the AutoDux slide cock on the trigger pull. Squeeze down the feed tube a bit so as to reduce kink and BAM, Auto Dux!

Now that would be bad assed if they had gone in grip 12gm only.

You know...I hear that there is ANOTHER semi auto duck in existence, and that it uses an automag valve as well, BUT the entire valve is stuffed inside a duck. From outward appearances, it looks like a regular duck. I have no idea if this is true however. It was done by someone named Fernado at Carter Machine. It's possible the one pictured above and the one I am talking about could be one and the same?
