Question Parabolic Feed - Success! (testers needed)

Background

Paint can bind in the feed block of the Redux due to the ball-shaped milling.
The solution: a parabolic insert in the front of the feed tube where the paint turns 90° helps prevent jamming of paint in the Redux feed system.

Diagrams below.

DD68 Redux Feed Port

BEST TESTERS NEEDED

This has been tested on Redux 043 with a modified feed port. More discussion of the feed port mod is in this thread: http://www.mcarterbrown.com/forums/r...s-rev-2-a.html

It has not been tested on unmodified Reduxes. If you want to try it, it's a reversible mod.

Epoxy putty can be mixed and pressed into the front of the feed tube, shaping it to form a parabola as shown in green in the bottom diagram.

It's possible the parabola won't leave enough space for a ball to feed; it works fine with the modified Redux, with milled feed port.

Reports on results would be much appreciated from other Redux owners.

CCM makes a stick feed? Any possibility you mean CCI, makers of the Phantom?

The CCI Phantom feed doesn't appear to be parabolic but the Phantom doesn't have a moving feed system so it may not need anything other than a simple bend.

WK2, does the CCM SC feed front end/tip come out like the late (I say late, cuz I can't think of any modern markers that're designed w/ one) Power Feed plugs - like those pictured by CJ in the first post? If so, pics of it pulled out of the feed tube would be awesome if that's possible; I think this is exactly what CJ is looking for as far as a fix for the internal design of the Redux feedtube.... it's actually exactly what I pictured when I first saw his drawings in the Redux Anti-pinch thread the other day...

Sorry Brother as I don't own a Stock Class Feed from CCM... I only own a CCM Cram-n-Jam... The ones pictures are a 4 piece design ( end cap feed gate, tube, feed block, front end piece ) and I am sure someone that owns one can take it apart and show CJ some love with a picture...

CJ you might want to PM TF (Talfuchre) as he owns one and I am sure he would be nice enough to take some pics for you...

I am pretty sure the front cap is removable, and that it has a parabolic face. Try searching the Pumpenstein website for the review, I think it had a picture of it disassembled.

Awesome... that was exactly the shot I was looking for... I take just enough time periodically throughout the day to check my email and MCB threads , between work, so I didn't actually get a chance today to do a search for this... very cool!

The only $#ty difference w/ the Redux feed tube front is that it's a solid piece...
