I have a feeling CJ would tinker with just about any gun given the chance. I used to have that mind set. Hindsight being 20/20 there are several guns I shouldn't have tinkered with. My original Z1 SN 632 grey w/muzzle break, when C-Fab finished with it although remarkable in every way it ruined one of a handful of Grey's from it's original state. You see back then it appeared as if the Grey's would be offered forever just like the muzzle braked barrels. After it was all said and done the Z went black and the muzzle brake was no longer offered. Nowadays I would never hack a Carter or Redux or other limited production marker from it's original state. That's not to say that I wouldnt ask for extra parts to test but I would never do it to the original parts. In the case of the Redux, slate can no longer be replicated therefore you could never get it back to stock specs. Of course mOngo offers Grey now which is not an exact match for Slate. RDX#44 is evidence of that as either the marker or Ext grip is slate and the other grey. I do like the direction of this new feed mod because it doesn't compromise the integriy of the original parts. You can even make use of CJ's mod as you mill this new project. So it might be the best of both worlds who knows. Just make sure you don't glue the feed gate in place or you will have issues removing the slide quickly, hence the step design of the original. |

i hadnt thought of the clearance issue of slide removal dsa. it might still clear ill have to check. im not a collector of anything in life really. i can apreciate not modifying rare stuff though. i probably wouldnt have touched this if it wasnt previously. having said that im glad it was im enjoying tinkering on it and will get back to it this weekend i think. and i really enjoyed shooting people w/ it sunday was playing against friends w/ semis. easy to point and i like the firm pump stroke. i did make the mistake of double pumping twice. broke balls both times
