Just a little teaser...Now with pics!

Here's a small taste of an ongoing project that I figured you Redux/brass lovers would appreciate

  1. Love the attention to detail and the choice of items to mill.
  2. Brass is HEAVY! Your Duck is going to weigh a tonne.
  3. Create an aluminum snub to cut weight (it's invisible when installed anyway) and the added brass weight will be offset quite a bit.

Yes sir, Duke. I wasn't going to do the barrel originally, but I was talked into it rather easily. And the 12g plug won't have the big cone on it like that when it's done, it was made that way to fit right in the lathe. He did a bit of work on my Sergison Freak'd PGP too, I'll get some nice pictures for you guys when I go pick everything up.

CJ, as silly as it sounds I actually like a heavy gun. I should have shown you my KP2 at Pump Pande this year, it weighs a good 8 or 9 lbs. Love it So the weight won't phase me too much. But regardless, I do like the idea of the aluminum slide. It wouldn't be something I'd be all over, but it's not a bad idea.

As for the parts themselves, we talked about it for a while and these seemed like the best things to go for. Maybe a trigger down the road, but that could be tough. I think it'll have just the right amount of brass accents now, until I can track down the right brass machine screws. I've found a bunch with the right threading, but nothing with a tapered hex tip like the ones normally on there.

Also, what do you guys think of a Dave Loo style lower grip? Something like this.

It's been another idea I've been bouncing around for a while.

I LOVE it!

As for the barrel, I really like it. Have you taken your Duck in and let him look at it, see what kind of Snub he could make?

I did have him check it out, but strictly for the repairs. The stainless threaded insert can be easily done, but I don't want to overload him right now. He is also working on the aluminum pgp project.

I'm still waiting on Mongo for the snub work, but if he's not feeling up to it after the Reduxes, I'll speak to Andrew about it. I'm more concerned with just getting the gun fixed, which Andrew seems confident he can do. I definitely don't trust myself to do it, that's for sure LOL!

PM Paintballer 50505 haha! I'm sure he could be convinced to do more, we got most of the hard stuff figured out pretty fast. He did say the barrel was challenging though, and I believe him. Steve went with some weird dimensions on that thing. Just needs to be ported and it'll be all good.

I just can't wait to see what all this will look like on Redux #2...black and gold/brass is pretty damn fine.
