I'm actually thinking more along the lines of a slight tint of blue... like I said, I too am new at mixing... so far I've just been using Caswell dyes (which I think they get from US Specialty Dye Corps); they're great dyes, but their OD Green is more of a Forest Green so I started mixing dyes this week to get closer to what I consider to be an OD color. So yeah, still definately no expert, but it'd be fun to see what I can come up with.


EDIT: I was correct... the color slate has a slight tint of "Azure" which is halfway between the colors blue and cyan... so there you go. We have a starting point! How far away the finish line is... only time can tell

Hey B.R. just an update, last night I messed around w/ my greys, but they're definately not quite "slate"... I'm sure there are some comercial anodizers out there that do slate, so by all means don't feel obligated to wait around for me to figure this out I'm going to keep it on my "just for the hell of it" to do list so I'mgoing to pick up some "cyan" and see what I can come up w/. I'll keep you posted, but by all means, don't wait for me if you find someone who does slate!
