Tactical Grip Options

Lets say umm, you wanted to get some über killer 1911 grips for a Redux to give it that tactical edge what would you go with rubber, acrylic, pewter, wood, scrimshaw? Include a fore grip in the equation or maybe just a strobe what would you go with.

Theme: Tactical, 9/11 OEF or OIF

Post up your suggestions.

I would say no to the red dot grips. Many fields do not allow them because of the danger to others players eye sight. And if you have ever shot a pistol with a laser, you will know that target acquisition with your standard iron sights is faster that the laser because you are not constantly trying to find the dot to put on your target.

Excellent points!

So what direction would you suggest? I really like the feel of rubber but the acrylic ones look so smooth. I even found Zombie Hunters panels in wood, very cool.

Panel grips are going to be better than wraparounds unless the grip hole placement is high enough to match a 1911...most paintball guns have the grips too low. Pistol primary players like AgentSmith are the first to file off their finger grooves, because they get in the way of combat pistol shooting.

My favorite is Hogue palmswells with a little skateboard grip tape around the front of the frame, tucked beneath the panels. Excellent grip, a bit more there for your hand to grab, and you can choke your grip up or down as needed without running into finger grooves.

Note the grip tape folded over the front of the frame, underneath the grips.

I have been using the pachmayr legend grips on my dux for as long as I have owned it, I love the look and feel of them.

I like acrylic for that nice clean look but find they become pretty slippery once they get paint on them or our hands get sweaty. I have never tried the pachmayr grips but the hogue panels are quite nice, as well as their wraparounds.
