Bucket changer leaking

I recall some discussion about a batch of bucket changers that had leaking issues, but do not recall where, or what the fix was. Seeing as we have this forum here now, I thought I'd dredge it up again because I appear to have the same problem. The first few 12grams worked fine, but now they all vent; something like 5 in a row now. This from the same batch as the ones that were working fine.

Thanks

throw a new seal in, or even an oring in the bottom of the bucket changer (it will seal the 12gm so it cant unscrew)

Yep, the bucket dimensions were taken off of screwy 12 Grams. There is a quality control issue with them. After speaking with Mike from CCI he also has had some Phantoms leaking and that has not happened ever before. And we know how old the Phantom is.

So, under the piercing pin should be two washer like spacers that should fix any leaking issues. All current Gargoyles have this already. If yours still leaks Siress, those are some really bad 12vies.

There is a post within MCB about this and the offer for me to send anyone that does not have this fix the spacers to do so. Or send me your Puncture Adapter and I can do it free of charge.

What about the old Penny in the bucket (changer) trick? Would that work as well?

Worked for me.

Rodney, Should we maybe try to get this into a FAQ thread in the RTR section or do you think that most of these have come back/will shortly be back to be modified?

Stock class = 12grams and a stick feed. End discussion.

Well, it could be in a FAQ thing but there have not been many people saying that this is happening. I remember sending out a bunch of the spacers way back when for the original 20 or so Gargs. Have not heard anything since then. Until now.

If the spacers are installed and there is still an issue then I would have to say that it's the 12 grams.

They work fine in the CCI bucket changer, though, which is why I figured it was from the trouble batch. I'll take some dimensions and see what's up.

And that is possible. The dimensions were not taken from the CCI Bucket but directly from a prototype bucket and the relation of the 12 gram to it.

So, there could very well be that little window in space where if the stars are aligned will make the 12 grams in the bucket for the Gargoyle leak and the CCI Bucket not leak.

All that being said...if the spacers are installed, you should not have a leaking issue. If you do, some of your 12 grams would be visibly short to the naked eye.

#23 came with the two washers installed. Never any issues. If you find that 12g's are leaking from the bucket itself, then ask RTR to send you two washers.
These are the thinnest washers I've ever seen. Two of them probably equal to a sheeet of paper.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...
