Unhappy New to me Gargoyle, nice but with issues

So I just got it in and it looks and feels awesome but I am having a bit of an issue with it, dunno if you guys ever have. Twice now after putting it together and firing a couple rounds through the garg I noticed that if I pump it quickly or with a bit of force the hammer/bolt assembly seems to force the valve open. This results in an explosion of air that destroys the paintball in the breech. Not sure what is wrong, never ran across this in any of my phantoms. I was using it with small hpa tank that was about half full so it shouldn't be an air source/pressure issue, any ideas?

Really hope to get this beauty up and running for the weekend for West Coast Pump Weekend, so I'm going to cross post this in the Ask The Experts to get maximum exposure.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.
