Finally captured my personal Unicorn

I've been on the hunt for a Gargoyle for about 2 years, each time one came up it either wasn't exactly what I wanted or I didn't have the funds. Well my search is over just sent payment for #28 from Clayalc and can't wait to receive it.

I've read most of the literature about the Gargoyle but had a question that hasn't really been answered in my reading. How well do the detents in the AC/Phantom adapter work with small paint say .679 or a little smaller?

Once I have 28 in my hands I'll see about getting a picture for the marker in every state thread. Don't think anyone from Montana has a Gargoyle :p

Welcome to the club!

I can't for the life of me remember the exact number that Rodney gave me but they are .67[something]

Gratz on your aquisition - am sure you will love it =)

dunno what the sizing is but its rare for me to have a problem with rollouts even with fresh evil.

That is promising info, worst case I'll get a AC barrel with inserts.

I've only had two roll outs w/ the stock barrel and adaptor... I was shooting Procaps that were sizing around .678-.684 that I picked up at the PX on post before I got out of the Army in the spring (not the best stuff ever).

Not to jack your thread Birdfoot, but Anybody ever just run a Freaked phantom barrel w/ the Adaptor? I know you won't get the control bore for the 1st inch of the barrel due to th adaptor, but I would think that it might help some w/ accuracy w/ smaller paint, but I haven't tried it yet

No problem Short I actually have a Deadlywind for phantom on its way to me. I'll try it out on the Garg and let you guys know.

My Cocker threaded DW barrel is a little loose in the phantom bushings... not sure what the OD on the DW barrel is, but it was a little to much slop for my personal preference. Everything about the Gargoyle is so smooth stock, I hate to change that

I have been running the detent adapter with a freak bored phantom barrel for most of the time I have had my Gargoyle. Its never been a problem.
