TIPPMANN WORLD CHALLENGE™ 2010 - INTERVIEWS with both GENERALS

The annual TIPPMANN WORLD CHALLENGE™ is scheduled for September 25th and 26th at the world’s longest operating Paintball fields, “Hell Survivors® WarGames” in Pinckney, Michigan.

For over a decade, this epic game has pitted a proud team of TIPPMANN GUN shooters, led for 2010 by legendary gun designer, General Denny Tippmann Jr., against the "World Team" shooting markers by ALL OTHER manufacturers, now led by legendary tournament hero and clinic instructor, General Mike Paxson. (Complete details: Hell Survivors website)

Here are the initial interviews with General Denny Tippmann, Jr. and General Mike Paxson:

Official Interview: DENNY TIPPMANN, Jr.

1) Denny, who have you chosen as your Commanding Officer(s), and Right-Hand Staff to carry out your strategies and missions for this upcoming Tippmann World Challenge™ at Hell Survivors®, and why did you pick these people?

DENNY: “I plan on asking Eric Engler of Engler Custom Paintball Guns. Eric has been my C.O. in the past –
I believe he is the best there is.”

2) Considering the decades of playing experience of your opposing World Team General, Mike Paxson, do you have any particular plans to counteract his notoriously aggressive, tournament experience and strategic skill?

DENNY: “Mike has good aggressive tournament skills, but this won't help him against a committed team of several hundred Tippmann shooters in the woods.”

3) Regarding Big Games and Scenario Leadership, you once led as General in the legendary “Special Ops Elite Weekend” in the Utah's high desert mountains. Over the years, you have played hundreds of times. But here, possibly over a thousand of Mike Paxson's players want your head on a platter. What special preparations will you use to fight nervousness and fatigue, and to hopefully arise victorious once again?

DENNY: “Without giving up too much info, the key to winning a big event is in your team's strategy, and their drive to win. As for fatigue and nervousness, these are non-issues for me.”

4) As a legendary corporate gun designer and industrial Paintball icon, why do you still like Paintball, and how often do you really play?

DENNY: “I don't play as much as I used to, but I still get out a couple times a year, and the reason I love it is because of the competition, comradery and adrenaline.”

5) What gives you confidence in winning this 2010 TIPPMANN WORLD CHALLENGE™?

DENNY: “I feel like the Tippmann team has the home field advantage here.”

6) To what main thing do you attribute your Company's incredible record of success?

DENNY: “Simple. We are devoted to giving our customers what they want.”

7) How would you introduce yourself to Mike Paxson, if he were here with us now?

DENNY: “Mike knows who I am, and I know who he is. There isn't much that would need to be said. I think Mike will make a great General, which will make for a great game.”

8) To the players reading this, what advantages would you point out for choosing to bring (or RENT!) a Tippmann gun, and to join you on the Tippmann team?

DENNY: “Tippmann guns are known for reliability, and that is essential for a big game. Being on the Tippmann team is like having home field advantage at this event.”

9) Without giving away any Double-Top-Secret planning, what general schemes can you divulge that will lead the Tippmann Team to yet another victorious triumph?

DENNY: “One of the strategies will be to keep our players on the field as much as possible, to help hold more stations longer.”

10) What is the one thing that you predict will be Mike Paxson's "Achilles Heel," his primary weakness that could bring his team down?

DENNY: “I think Mike and his team will struggle staying out on the field as much as the die-hard Tippmann team.”

Official Interview: World Team General, Mike Paxson.

1) Mike, who have you chosen as your Commanding Officer(s), and Right-Hand Staff to carry out your strategies and missions for this upcoming Tippmann World Challenge at Hell Survivors, and why did you pick these people?

MIKE: “I picked the best guys I could find, with patience to focus on communications all day long, who know the field inside out, but I can't tell you who they are...”

2) Considering your own decades of tournament-focused playing experience compared to your opposing Tippmann Team General, the legendary Denny Tippmann Jr., do you agree with the widespread speculations that you are over-confident, based on your relative lack of Scenario Game experience, and what general plans will you follow to counteract his career-long woodsball background?

MIKE: “It all depends on how well my team will work together, because I can't know how it will play out. You will just have to be there on September 25th and 26th !”

3) You have played hundreds of tournaments on several continents, and frequently enjoyed the spoils of championships and the THRILL OF VICTORY. But at this September’s TIPPMANN WORLD CHALLENGE™, possibly over a thousand Tippmann shooters - including over 100 RENTERS - want you to experience the AGONY OF DEFEAT. What can you possibly do to counteract their passionate plans, and how can you inspire your Team to defend your incredible record of success?

MIKE: “If we can motivate everyone to play together as a TEAM, and as long as the ‘Captain & Coke’ is flowing at Stouts and in the other nearby bars, we have nothing to worry about.”

4) As a tournament legend, clinic instructor, and Paintball celebrity, you have signed thousands of autographs and traveled millions of fatiguing air miles. Why do you still like Paintball, how often do you play, and what are your three favorite things to do OUTSIDE of Paintball?

MIKE: “Paintball is the only sport where you can legally shoot somebody. I play guaranteed three times a week. Outside Paintball? Fishing, fishing, and more fishing.”

5) What gives you confidence in winning this 2010 TIPPMANN WORLD CHALLENGE™?

MIKE: “My stubbornness that I can never lose at ANYTHING will help us win. And, we got Rocky Cagnoni.”

6) To what main thing do you attribute your own incredible record of tournament success?

MIKE: “Staying humble, and keeping a good work ethic. Since someone will always try to work just as hard, you must always drive yourself to work harder and harder. Never settle.”

7) Please introduce yourself to Denny Tippmann Jr., as though he were here with us now.

MIKE: “Hey! What's up buddy? Can I buy you a drink?”

8) What advantages would you point out for choosing to join you on the World Team and take on the Tippmann challengers?

MIKE: “We have our work cut out for us - we know their guns are always gonna work, so we have to win with speed and volume.”

9) Without divulging any Double-Top-Secret plans, what general schemes might lead the World Team to victory?

MIKE: “Shakin' and Movin' - that's all I can say.”

10) What is the one thing that you predict will be Denny Tippmann's "Achilles Heel," his primary weakness that could bring his team down?

MIKE: “The nearby bar... “

They really need to choose a month that is not the hottest and the start of school.

They have several games around the calender. Monster game is in a way hotter month, and as far as school goes, never stopped me... I played Tippmann last year, probably going to play world this year.

Nah, just depended on who you ran with. Well, and your take on being outnumbered. I guess there would be plenty of people who would say that. But there are sooo many different ways to play that field. I don't know what the actual numbers looked like as far as each team, but doing the things our group was doing on the field we were all ways outnumbered but we held our own and that was a blast to me.

i personally like world team because i can use my etek, but if you love your tippman, have fun getting owned. the only reason tippman is even a contender for world team is because they hire mercs like crazy. they got cocky one year and said the mercs could go world team and tippman team got completely wrecked.
