| Paintball Olympian | It is a longshot at this point. My friend decided to get married in July, so I have to fly down to Florida for a few days. Otherwise, I will try to organize something for next years game. It would be an expensive trip for me, but I am going to look at the logistics of it. anyone know what the 3-4 nearest airports are? They used the death cards at The Tet Offensive. The death card allows an eliminated player to re-enter gameplay immediately., instead of having to report all the way back to cp and wait for the re-entry window. Once you get eliminated, find the nearest ref and give him your death card. He will direct you the nearest, safe location to re-spawn. No one can shoot at you until you are at the spawn point and behind cover. Once you have cover, gameplay will resume immediately. There was a "helicopter" in play during a mission. A player "piloted" a cardboard chopper. Up to 4 players could "ride" by holding onto 1 of 4 ropes. The chopper has a ref escort to monitor rules infractions. During the time that the chopper is in play with players "onboard", no one can shoot at you, nor can you shoot back. Once you are ready to "land", you release the ropes after the chopper pilot states he has landed. It was during the landings that players got lit up, since everyone sees the loaded chopper going by with a ref. This is when the death cards really come into play. All the guys who got shot "leaving" the chopper turned in death cards immediately to the ref. They were given a nearby safe area to take cover and prepare for immediate re-entry. The shooters usually run by then to take new cover, since they gave up their positions the first time they fired on the chopper crew. If anyone let's go of the rope during transport, they are considered to have "fallen" out of the chopper and eliminated. Anyone can volunteer to "pilot" the cardboard chopper. 1 guy liked it so much he did it for both days straight. Nerf rocket launchers are in play. 1 direct hit disable the chopper, 2 hits eliminates everyone on board. Also, a 10 foot radius around nerf rockets is a kill zone. Refs determine kill radius on the spot. If one doesnt have a death card, then a long walk back to cp awaits. There are clocks at the cp to show if the re-entry window is open or closed. It was 15 minute windows. Re-entry was usually the first 15 minutes of the hour, and the first 15 minutes after the 1/2 hour mark. It is designated by the "white" part of the clock. If the hour marker of the clock is in the "black" part of the clock, usually 15 minutes after the start of the hour and the last 15 minutes of the hour, then re-entry is closed. There are refs at all points to indicate open/closed windows. They also check hoppers and pods at every re-entry to enforce use of field paint only, and there are chronos at each entry point. If you run out of death cards, you just have to wait it out at the cp each time you get shot. You aren't necessarily "done" for the weekend. I have such poor cardio, I never used my death cards. I needed the 15 minute respawns just to catch my breath and re-hydrate. It is a LONG scenario, so pace yourself and just have fun. Nothing to rush. See you all in Oct!

They better order yellow/ neon green fill paint for this event. The new white fill sc and evil is terrible. You can't see the breaks at all . The evil fill is practically clear. And the sc fill absorbs the brown shell color so it's a pretty much light brown fill. Both types barely have enough paint to leave a mark.
