Yes, but the one left will be my trusty sl-68 II. I swear that old relic is my good luck charm.

Question:

We're planning on camping onsite, coming out friday night (we'll probably roll in almost around midnight.) - EMR's site says the store closes at 9pm. If we call ahead and register for a camping spot, can we come and (quietly as not to disturb others) set up a tent, and pass out? Or will we need to find another place to stay for friday night?

Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

Call EMR and ask. They are pretty flexible and willing to accommodate campers, but I doubt anyone will be there after Midnight.

If I recall correctly, there is usually a big map outside the store that shows everyone's assigned spaces. If you call EMR and reserve a spot, you maybe will only need to check the map upon arrival.

Cheers and travel safely.

My second trip to EMR I ended up arriving at 2:30 AM Saturday morning after a blowout and the subesquent near-death experience on the PA turnpike. We just found an open spot, parked, fell asleep in the car and set up camp in the morning. No worries. Of course, that was before they actually staked out the camping area into "sites", so it'd be best to call and reserve one. There's a $20 deposit which is refunded (so long as you don't trash the place). Besides, most of the attendees will be well-awake at midnight - half-drunk, but mostly awake....

Additional tip for campers:

As a camper veteran of EMR myself, I can tell you that regardless of the assigned spaces, it's pretty much first-come, first-served. At large events like Castle, your space is likely already taken if you arrive late on Friday. At small events like PP, there's nobody else that will care no matter where you go.

The EMR staff is very good at keeping things running smoothly, but as Drum mentioned, nobody is going to be there late at night when many people roll in. The players will be, of course, but the staff actually tries to sleep for some crazy reason.

This being PP, there are far more camping spaces than there will be people to fill them. The campground area can easily hold over 50 campers and much more than that if it's just tents and pop-ups. We're only expecting about 200 people for the game, many of which will be staying in a hotel or just driving in for the day. Add in the bunkhouses and there will be no shortage of space.

Of course it's a nice thing to try and get the spot that you reserved but if you can't figure out which one it is or if it's already taken, don't have any reservations about just setting up on whatever level ground you like.

Quick tip: Move at least 20-30 yards away from the bunkhouses and try to get towards the middle of the camping area. That ground isn't as soggy, it's fairly level and it's far enough away from bunkhouse row that the late-night noise isn't so bad.

Alright, i figured PP would be a bit smaller, but my luck is to underestimate, and then be denied a place to sleep after driving 6.5hrs....

If evertything goes well, we'll get there earlier friday, but most likley not. Get there, get some drinks in, go to bed, and start the "undead" process of hungover-paintball.

rinse, repeat

Getting all my stuff packed up today to get ready. Remember to bring rain gear, weather channel says thunderstorms on Saturday. What happens if the storms break while we are playing? I would assume that it is a sign from god to drink more, but as far as game play goes??
