I have given up the practice after getting in a physical altercation with a player that did try a dead man's walk on me. In hind sight for me the eliminations off a dead man walk are never fulfilling. The first few times my heart was pounding in excitement. But in retrospec the taste was bitter. It's a cheap trick. |

So true... At the VIP on of my Nightslashers had to call himself out and walk with the tagged opposing player to a REF so the rule about Armband tape could be explained...AGAIN. After working his *** off to get inside the Enemy CP...to call yourself out and get a rule explained so feelings dont get hurt sucked. p.s. - everyone was 18+ and during the manditory morning briefing EVERYONE sounded off to indicate they fully understood the rules.

You are trying to say, that i cant simply walk up to an enemy base, and shoot people? that i HAVE to come up to the base in an aggressive way, showing that i am, somehow, a threat? In tourny ball, they try to limit it... but they simply cannot deny you the choice to WALK down the field with your gun down... bonusballing/overshooting happens... whether it should or not is a different discussion, but it happens, so its time to learn what YOU can do to stop it... you are out? raise your gun, put on the barrel bag/plug, voice that you are OUT... nothing else... just let them know you are out.. if you fail to do even 2 out of the 3 simple things... than you should expect to get shot more than needed when you are leaving the field... Learn what it takes to show you are out... and follow it... people can try to ban DMW... but until you ban simply walking the field holding your gun in a relaxed grip... it will always happen, and it WILL be apart of the game, and there is NOTHING a ref/promoter can do to stop it...

| MCB Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: HTown, TX | I'm thinking that people are not understanding that a DMW in recball is something different than being sneaky or sly at a scenario game. At scenario most players aren't trying to seem "dead" but more like they are on the opposite team to gain a vantage point on the players. In rec ball I find it difficult to "pretend" to be on the other team to gain advantage in a 15 or less minute game, this is where DMW are attempted and the bonus balling or overshooting really occurs. Having an opposing player wander into the op force base or past a group of opposing players isn't a DMW but bad base security or poor attention by the players. So DMW in scenario is a mute issue since it really doesn't exist. And like Crash posted the rules are there for a reason, just because you don't know them doesn't make something wrong or unable to be done, it just make you look lazy and ignorant. My peeve is players complaing about being over shot as the slowly wander out of the middle of a firefight, like the firefight should wait till they are out of the way or something. I always laugh at them when they are being all prissy about and tell them they shouldn't be so slow, the game doesn't revolve around just them. But I will help pull a dead player from a hot spot if thier bunker is being laid into and they can't get out easily. ramble ramble ramble , ok done for now
