The only people who do not belong at scenarios (or any paintball game for that matter) are the wiper, over shooters, cheaters, and hot heads. Leave the speedball attitudes on the scenario doorstep. Other than that anyone can play.

All it means is that scenario teams and players need to have a more versatile game then before. Only being a good role-player will not help your team win games. Players need to be able to hold your own against the run-and-gun teams that don’t care about anything but shooting all 9 cases of paint they bought.

BigOldSkool--If I had been up on that hill completing a mission I wouldn’t have come down to help you either. Holding the flag base didn’t really do anything except make it easier for those doing the mission to complete it. But that is also the only reason it mattered at all. Shooting is merely a skill set to help complete missions. Sometimes you use it and other times it is not necessary. But the fact of the matter is that missions get points and points win the game. Whether it be role-playing or holding a hill. The only difference with our group is that you probably wouldn’t have even known that we were up on the hill holding it....

Oh, and if someone wants to wear a bright red jersey to a scenario game, go right ahead. Iit will only make it that much easier to spot them...

Now see, I have a problem with that. If you are going to name names and call people out you should not hide. For all we know it is some disgruntled player that never made it on a good team, or someone who is jealous because they are fully sponsored and don't have to be responsible. I have played with and against them. Just because they don't do missions doesn't mean they aren't worth anything on the field.

While they don't do specific missions they will gladly go anywhere on the field and take it for you.

Stuff like this pisses me off.

I don't remember the writer "dissing" Blue's Crew in the article as 10-shot stated, but the purpose of The Hunter column is to deal with a "scenario issue" in such a manner that it causes people to think. It is Op/Ed. It takes a hard line and requires a strong emotional response.....for the better or worse. I don't write it, nor am I involved in the topic selection but I don't disagree with it's purpose.

Funny thing is I was at a scenario where Blues crew and Horror Show both showed up. Blues crew showed up to shoot people, Horror Show showed up to shoot Blues Crew. Blues crew added so much to the game by being there. Horror Show sat on their behinds.
I have talked to Blue about him and his team not running missions and he said something to the effect that if his giant, well organized team were to concentrate on missions it would unfairly tip the scales one way or the other. If you want them in a given area, fine, but they are there as window dressing. It is the paying customers who should be getting the accomplishments, not a professional team that barely has to talk to each other to get a job done

I edited your statement slightly, but I think you pretty much sum it up nicely.

And ScrapIron: Thanks for the proof! Nice!

Yes, we also need to stop Single-ing out players because of what they look like. There seems to be Stereotypes that a woodsy looking player is most likely honorable and an electro toting jersey wearing player is probably wiping off all those shots.

This just isn't true today, I've been paying attention. At scenarios at least, I've noticed just as many people cheating wearing camo, as people wearing jerseys. It's a stupid stereotype.

We need to stop focusing on the way people dress and what equipment they use, and start making sure everyone's playing the game honorably.

And I just can't believe somebody would write an article complaining about a team playing aggressively, because that's basically what he's complaining about.

Indeed. There are idiots in all aspects of life. However when I use the term "speedball" I don’t mean some kit wearing a jersey and having a high end electro. I mean the player who plays a highly competitive version of paintball, in which money is on the line, where wiping, cheating and bad attitudes seem to be the norm. I was watching reruns on a speedball format game on Fox Sports the other day and had to turn it off. I have never seen such disrespect for a referee in any other sport. And these guys are supposed to be professionals???

So I guess the two terms can be interchangeable...

I wasn't saying you or your post pissed me off, I hope you didn't read it as such.

I don't think any opinionated piece should be written anonymously.
