There was much confusion amongst the players and the reffs as to which flags were the ones for the game. A large blue flag with a red emblem is not a red flag it is a blue flag, especialy in the middle of an intense gun fight. I ran up and flipped the flag do the the fact that a blue flag was flying and a flag that had a lot more red on it was lowered. Turned out I flipped the flag the wrong way. That could have cost us the game. There should be a more noticable difference in the 2 flags. Also, though this is very minor, the flags should have started out lowered so you didn't just have to keep your flag raised but that you had to get there and raise the flag. Other then that I had fun. I loved the fact that people were getting into the role playing and not just shooting people. I did however almost offer up 2 players on my side as an offering to the cannibals. From the start of our mission they did nothing but bit** and complain. If things went bad while negotiating with the cannibals, I was going to offer them for fresh food. I will say I need to start playing the game like a 40 year old and not a 20 year old because I hurt today. |

The MVT award was a great honor. Black Diamond were outstanding as the Dutchman crew. Our side fought very hard and the result showed. All in all a great day. Thanks again! New England Rangers |

| Newbie | the flags were very easy to figure out someone asked me while i was in staging i asked them what color was the empire flag the man said "I believe Blue" than i said then in that case the open flag must be red. It was quite simple if you stopped and thought about it for a second i know i know its tough when paint is raining but you guys had the castle on lockdown so i wasnt too worried

Not to worry it wasnt you who asked me it was some guy with a regular shirt on. Keith got up their in time to make sure all was good so the game played out as it should all was saved Actually if I was the general I would have said just get me one flag and hold it you guys were up they needed both stations, you did not. as it turned out you practically ran the larger team off the field. Didnt realize that as i was counting them off before the game that there were 13 other blues that were standing behind one of the bldgs . oh well you won anyway

| Active Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: the group W bench | I hope someone got pics of that final battle, Masse shooting a pink Ion is not something yer likely to see again in this lifetime... I was running with the AT-85 most of the day myself. Black Diamond was awesome as the crew of the Dutchman, we probably should have used more helo-drops but these guys didn't need them because they were out front the whole game. CTC did a great job as the cannibals, and we (EITC) were able to keep them appeased through most of the game ~ saving our team from being turned into long pig through gifts of rum. I loved the Chef with his apron and white hat, those home-cooked twins were delicious. To the Pirate team - Only good things to say, you gave us a good fight and made us work for our missions. And that Parrot was great with his lusty profane greetings and demands. ("Polly want's a F**ing cracker! NOW!" ) It was funny that I kept getting into firefights with the same guy almost every time, we kept running into each other during recycle saying "that was you again?" The Friday night party was a blast with lots of laughter and stories, music and singing, showing off markers new and old. Some folks were up till 4am. We went through 2 1/2 bottles of the BlackStrap rum that I brought, and about half a gallon of someones elses rum, and several mason jars of shine I know around noon the count was 59 to 60 players, and more arrived after that so I figure around 150 total. Some good teams and individuals, and a lot of less experienced players. I must have had the scores incorrect in that last post, redrum would be the right one, since he was involved doing the count. "Some good teams and individuals, and a lot of less experienced players." This is what made it a great day for me, that all these younger kids and newer players were able to participate in a game where these experienced teams were more about playing honestly and having fun than they were about winning at any cost.(meaning cheating) These are the games that give these kids someone to emulate as a positive role model. There may have been a couple hotheads, but there's always a bad apple and there weren't any real issues I heard about. I attribute this to Steeel Reserve and all the work they put into this, and to P&L with their excellent reffing staff. Thank you all for a most enjoyable day of play.
