It was interesting to say the least. I went back to the hotel and went to sleep early and missed all kinds of stuff I guess, but I will let someone else explain it as it would be second hand comming from me. I can say that on a personal level, I had a blast.

There were a few complications during the game due to player dick waving and a few renegade role players, but those problems were quickly handled. You have to remember, this game is insane. You have an entire field inhabited by role players. It's a game within a game. You have to come to this game prepared to role play, you can't win this game without using your brain. That's what I love about it.

This year was pretty wild. We had TShields (Good) squaring off against Darth (Bad) from the Albany Marshalls. Two very different styles of leadership which made for some very entertaining paintballing.

As a third entity role player (Chief of the Indians), I spent a lot of time fighting, negotiating, and swindling with each side. Blue side had a great combination of some of the best players I've ever seen. It was great to watch some of these guys work and at times, fight right along side of them.

Red team had some very talented players as well. With our Indian village being so close to Red's base I noticed that they (Red team) played a very defensive game. They hit hard for their point objectives and held strong when they needed to solidify their lead. A very respectable style of commanding and perhaps the wisest choice considering his opposition.

Blue side seemed to function a bit differently from what I saw. Their front line was a freakin tornado, pushing the line until there was nowhere left to push. Great communication and a lot of talent gave blue the edge when it came to punching holes through their opposition and getting to those hard to reach point objectives. One thing I noticed players from both teams doing a lot more of this year was utilizing the back tapeline more often. Those who know this field know how useful that section of field is for back dooring and it was great to see players utilizing it to its fullest. On top of all of this, you had the role players all functioning differently from eachother. Some role players gave combat mission, some delt with trading props, some were hunting bounty offers, and some were just being ridonculous. With so much in the mix it really felt like a fire fight could break out at any second, it was great.

One of my favorite moments was at the end of the day on Saturday, when both teams were battling it out in the middle of Swat village. I've never seen such a high volume of paint flying in such a small area. Constant mid-air explosions of colliding paint, bunker move after bunker move, Cilio running back and forth like a madman, it was awesome. Definitely one of the best battles I've ever seen at SP.

At the end of the day, when the dust settled, the Bad guys came out on top with a score of 830 with the Good finishing only 10 points behind at 820. It was an amazing match up. Congrats to the MVPs and MVTs and thanks to everyone else who came out and contributed to this game. See you all at the next one!

highlights for me were the poker tournament, seeing my horses in random places all over the field, and just about everything involving the Ugly

Ma Gawd, that was a game to remember.
Honestly, I do believe that was the single largest scenario ever held in the State of Connecticut. The parking lot was jammed in spite of Extreme Measures packing them in like sardines. I don't know the actual count, but I'd estimate 220-250 players, probably 40 just role playing.
Paintball Authority from N.J. had a huge vendors tent, with all the newest and prettiest of gear. The night games had issues and never went on, although players were on the field waiting to start.
The final score was close, I heard something like 840 - 850 (correct me if that's wrong).
Were all the horses returned to their owners? I had Sheridan with me on Sunday, but I know a few were missing near the end..
The talent show ~ I admit to being biased, being one of the contestants and all, but there were only two acts competing out of five entered. I took second place, singing "drunken sailor" and getting folks to sing along. First place was Eve and her whip-cracking. She had volunteers literally lined up, and I feel sorry for that guy on the end. She was too close and it curled around his leg into his crotch and dropped him. I didn't mind losing to her at all, it's hard to compete against a woman wearing assless chaps.
The Game ~ I had a busy weekend. I was there Friday night for the potluck (brought wings) and stayed till ? drinking rum with many friends. Had to work Saturday morn and arrived late. Chrispy gives me a mission to go out and NOT be found, both teams will be looking for me to get a prop I carry. I head out and find a nice spot way off in the corner of the field where the terrain offers a good spot, visible from the valley below but not the tape line 30' behind me. I sit on a rock in the sun and wait. At least a dozen players walked the tapeline in 2's and 3's at different times, if I sat up and craned my neck around I could just see the tops of their heads going by. The opposite side of the valley two hundred feet away I watched players walk left to right and right to left, one of them actually waved to me but didn't come over.
About an hour and a half later a Red player woke me up, asking if I was all right. I wandered around for a while, even into Blue base and out the other side. Shortly a different Red player ran up and shot me, then ran away again.
After that, I started shooting Red players. I had fun during the days final battle, teaching people not to underestimate a KP.
Red pretty much dominated the field on Saturday, but Blue rallied well on Sunday, swaying many of the role players to their cause and brought the point spread to a nearly tied game.

Big props to Chrispy for suffering so much and delivering a game to remember, it was great seeing Jim Ioulo there (the guy who opened the place in '82), so many tents with team banners flying, great people and a great time.
